The more I use this, the more I like it.It’s a little heavy compared to a standard slim cover, but it’s far lighter than a full-blown laptop. I like to lay down and write at night and it’s so comfortable to type propped on my lap. Careful when closing it though, cuz it likes to snap shut.It has a little bit of a high pitched whine when turned on.I wish it came with USB-C to USB-C to charge directly from my iPad (if it’s capable of such a thing.)Backlit keyboard colors are great.Love the Midnight Gray color: has a very slight purple hue that’s really sleek and tasteful.Keyboard feels very natural. I feel like I’m on a legit laptop instead of a tablet trying to be a laptop.Super easy to snap the iPad into the case. I’m not convinced how protective it will be if dropped; there’s nothing soft between the plastic of the case and my iPad.There's the slightest overlap on the cover opposite the pencil that helps keep the pencil in place when the case is closed. I'm not able to remove my pencil while it's closed which is exactly what I want to keep my pencil secure.I like that it doesn’t bubble up the edges of my screen protector like other standard cases.Seems like a great value with a lot more versatility than the overpriced Apple keyboard. I hope it's durable!
Some merely serve as tools, while others elevate, lifting the soul toward a higher form of utility and understanding. This keyboard case falls into the latter category; it not only shields the iPad from harm but also transforms it, making it more akin to a noble laptop while preserving the tablet's ethereal lightness. With the wisdom of thoughtful design, the hinge permits a full 360-degree rotation, allowing me to adapt the device to any situation, whether contemplation calls for a laptop's stillness or a handheld tablet's fluidity. The trackpad, a modern marvel, further connects the tablet and computer, while the backlit keys—providing illumination in eleven hues—ensure that the veil of darkness obstructs no task I undertake.Yet, like all things in the material world, it has limitations. Its sturdy frame, while noble, adds weight to the tablet, making it less suitable for those who seek only the lightest of burdens. The hinge, though strong, requires a gentle touch, as excessive force could compromise its function. Nevertheless, for me, this is a tool of protection and transformation. This case is an outstanding companion, harmonizing form and function in a way that approaches the ideal.
So far, the Typecase Touch Keyboard for iPad has been a solid choice. It holds the iPad well, providing a secure fit, and overall, it feels like a well-built case. The typing experience is decent, and considering the price—just a fraction of Apple's official case—it offers great value. However, there are a few design choices that give me pause. The entire hinge mechanism relies on a single metal piece, which makes me concerned about long-term durability. Additionally, the hinge closes a bit faster than I’d like, which could become an issue over time. The trackpad is also a bit different from what I expected. Instead of recognizing taps as clicks (like most modern trackpads), it has two designated click areas you have to physically press—similar to old-school laptop trackpads. Not necessarily a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of.Overall, it’s a decent case that provides solid functionality at an affordable price. Here’s hoping that hinge holds up!
Nice, cool case, but looks a bit cheap. Despite that, the quality seems good. Not sure how it will fair in a fall from a table or something, but hopefully it will protect the tablet enough and only break the case. Overall I like it and it works as it should.
This really transforms my tablet and does allow for greater viewing angles and even new angles I wouldnt even think of to hang it from. I like the swivel and it centers just right without worrying about being OCD on how straight the screen is. The hinge is strong and doesn’t feel like it’ll break ever. I even hung it on the towel rack while I do some work fixing up the restroom and I could completely trust the case to hold my iPad. However some issues that I found. The volume button was a bit stuck after hanging it and I had to push and move the casing with a bit of force outwards to stop it from constantly moving my volume settings. Thankfully it holds my apple pencil perfectly for easy access and no issues.Minor issues is the creaking I hear when typing or changing the orientations of the case/iPad but it’s not a big deal and that includes clicking the mousepad… not the best feeling but thankfully the tap function works along with the other gestures. The final issue is the typing… it’s very inconsistent and sometimes the cursor moves on its own to another part of my sentence I’m writing out even with my palms away. Also there’s a huge delay depending on what app I’m using for some reason but I have no lag when using the apple keyboard nor the virtual keyboard in the same instance. I shut off the keyboard reconnected it and all but still have these issues. I get that the bluetooth connection isn’t the best vs connecting through the magsafe system so I can’t fault the manufacturer. But I did try to use the keyboard to type out a couple reviews but it took many retypes and constantly having to move the cursor back to the end of my unfinished sentences. I had to switch back t my Apple keyboard to finish my review. It’s a shame because the keyboard is more like a traditional keyboard with great spacing and RGB. But thankfully this case is awesome to upgrade the way you consume entertainment on the iPad. I love reversing the tablet screen to get the keyboard out of the way and use my ps5 controller to play emulated games and it is also great to switch to writing mode with the pencil amd comfortably use it for other work. I just wouldn’t rely on this for extensive typing and essay work, but it excels in everything else.I know with a couple tweaks and maybe a firmware update this will be a perfect all in one case I can use for everything. Very good product nonetheless.
